Maintaining your pool's water balance and keeping it clean year-round, makes for an easy start to the swimming season and less impact on your wallet!

Colder winter temperatures make it less likely for algae to grow, but it's important to remember it's not impossible! Keeping an eye on your chlorine levels and adding a monthly dose of algaecide is a simple way to keep your water healthy and safe! 

Winter time also means that your pool cover may become more of a permanent feature to keep unwanted leaves, branches and other debris out of your pool. However, like your home, it's good to air out the pool from time to time. The same as you would by cracking a few windows, remove the pool cover and let the water breathe - for those with a salt pool, chlorine will have a tendency to build up under the cover with no where to go!

The 'off-season' is also an excellent time of the year to finally get around to all of those maintenance projects you have been putting off - filter media changes, plumbing changes or equipment servicing!
