Q: My pool has turned green, what do I do?

A: The most effective way to treat a green pool is to shock it with a high dose of chlorine & algaecide. Keep your pump and filter running for at least 10hrs during and after treatment. Give your pool a good vacuum and backwash the filter afterward. 

 

Q: Is there anything special I need to be doing to maintain my Salt Chlorinator? 

A: We recommend a monthly dose of BioGuard Salt Pool Stain & Scale Control. It is also a great idea to regularly remove and clean the salt cell by soaking in Hydrochloric Acid or BioGuard Salt Cell Cleaner. 

 

Q: I've come out of the swimming pool with itchy skin, how can I prevent this happening? 

A: Keep your water balanced. Itchy skin after swimming is likely due to either high chlorine levels or a high pH. 

 

Q: How often should I be testing my water? 

A: We recommend a minimum of fortnightly in summer and monthly over the winter. Checking your pool or spa water on a regular basis will ensure consistency and keep repair costs down.
